Liquidamber styraciflua Worplesdon (Sweet Gum) has foliage which is delightful and more deeply lobed than other clones and its pyramidal habit is both reliable and architecturally pleasing.
Its real beauty lies in its autumn colour starting in September when some leaves turn yellow through to orange before falling but the outermost leaves gradually turn to magnificent claret red. A great tree for any urban aspect where space allows.
