Trees for Heavy Soils

Selection of trees for heavy soils or which are prone to water logging or damp is fairly limited as there are only a number of trees that will tolerant these adverse conditions. Air and water are needed for tree roots to support healthy growth and saturated or heavy soils will have insufficient oxygen for healthy root function and may lead to decay.
