Malus domestica Elstar (Elstar Apple)

“The Elstar Apple produces a display of pale pink flowers in the spring time that appear at a similar time to the bright green elliptical leaves that are typical of Malus varieties. The fruit begins to develop over the summer period, producing a full blown bonanza of fruit by the autumn time. The foliage turns clear yellow before falling, however is somewhat eclipsed by the fruit at this time. The apples are medium sized, mainly red in colour with yellow patches. It is a popular apple for producing apple sauce.”
