“Prunus laurocerasus Legend (Cherry Laurel ‘Legend’) is a vigorous, large, spreading evergreen shrub with handsome, glossy dark green leaves.
In Spring copper coloured shoots are proceeded by fragrant white flowers in erect clusters to 12cm in length. In summer cherry-like glossy red fruits soon turning black form. Its leaves are particularly large and thick, slightly curved, with a lovely shiny, green hue. The growth is fast, bushy and upright.
Frost hardy, disease tolerant, prefers a sunny to semi-shady location and sheltered from the wind when initially planted but once developed tolerate windy conditions.  Will grow quickly to a height of 3 metres cm and a width of around a metre.
Due to the firm, leathery leaf, the tree is very wind resistant and can also tolerate sea wind. Suitable for use in parks and gardens, solitary or in groups, and work well in containers or confined spaces too. Needs protection against cold, drying wind.”
