Stryrax japonica Purple Haze (Japanese Snowbell Purple Haze)
“Styrax japonicus Purple Haze (Japanese Snowbell Purple Haze) is a compact, conical to rounded, deciduous flowering tree.
The leaf is oblong to elliptic, toothed, glossy, and dark green in the summer, maroon (purple) when young in spring, and turning orange and yellow in autumn
Styrax japonicus has pure white, fragrant, bell shaped flowers that bloom on the underside of the branch. Slow growing, it’ll reach a height and breadth of around 4 to 5 metres in no less than 20 years. Makes for an ideal specimen tree in a small garden.
It likes a non-alkaline loamy, clay, or sandy soil that’s moist and free-draining – should be planted in a sheltered and full sun or partial sun aspect”
