Thuja occidentalis Smaragd (White Cedar Smaragd)

“Thuja occidentalis ‘Smaragd’, more commonly known as White Cedar ‘Smaragd’, is a slow growing, evergreen, upright conifer.

It has scale-like, fresh green leaves that offers a lovely fragrance when rubbed. Its shape is conical and narrow and grows to a maximum height of only 3 metres with a maximum width of 2 metres when fully formed at its base.

Like a lot of conifers, it is suitable for formal and structured planting – as a screen, for grouping in a row, or as an individual specimen. It should be noted it is slow to reach its full height.”

Will grow in any light, well-drained soil, prefers full sun or partial shade, and is tolerant of exposed positions.”
